Texas Brownies

2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix together sugar and flour. Put margarine, water and cocoa in a saucepan and let melt. Add all remaining ingredients and mix. Bake in a jellyroll pan at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Ice while warm.

Icing
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
6 tablespoons milk
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 pound confectioners' sugar
1 cup chopped nuts

Put margarine, milk and cocoa in a pan and melt together. Remove from stove. Add confectioners' sugar and nuts. Spread on brownies while warm.
